Music Blog in Idea Mode

I know I don’t update this nearly as much as I should. This update though is definitely needed, if only to sort out some awesome ideas.

I will be starting a music blog unlike anything you seen hopefully. I have already purchased the domain and contacted companies I will be developing from (getting info on the API). So far the idea seems sound which is good considering this will be a music blog. There will be social aspects of the site that I haven’t decided if they should be integrated with facebook or not. If not, I surely don’t want to make my site dependent upon someone having an account offsite. The content will be pretty awesome hopefully, and I will probably contact some people who write for other music sites to do some writing on mine (even they will only do it to drive traffic to their site). I figure if I embrace the interwebs with the idea, that they will embrace me.

Music Blog Design

Site design will be started shortly after I get an email back from one of the companies a service will be provided by. If I don’t get an email that the first step will be creating a system from scratch to do what I would rather do through an API. It is still feasible regardless of what happens, which is nice. I can guarantee the site will at the very least intrigue. Being the visionary and developer has its perks, mostly when it comes to the lack of compromises that are made.

Another New Design

I decided to overhaul my wordpress theme, and I think I finally am on track to having this theme look the way I want. I did a complete redesign in photoshop and scrapped the original stylesheet. I definately like the feel of Twin City Designs better now. It took me about a day to implement the design into a wordpress theme, and the time was worth it.

There are a few elements I will be changing in the future, the navigation being one. The navigation at the bottom is fine for my shorter posts, but the main index page and the longer posts with photographs make it difficult to find the navigation right away. At least that is how I feel. Spring is here, so I will be posting more and more photographs, as well as be posting about more adventures once I get my bicycle back into shape.  There is a problem with my bottom bracket, so I need to bring it in and see if they can salvage the bottom bracket or if I will need to get it replaced. It lasted me a while, especially considering how hard I am on the bike. I did ride it through winter after all.

I think that is everything for now, take care.

New Site on the Way

I am in the process of creating a new site similar to the site for collectible glass I made. This site’s focus will be letting anyone sell their product online, and the traffic/rankings will be delivered as the overflow from the people coming to the site for regular collectibles. The store system will be based on Magento, a suprisingly powerful system. I am working on importing all of the products from the last site which has become a chore, but is almost complete.

I was working on a mockup for a potential client. They did auditorium seating installation, but I won’t say anything more. I did want to share the mockup I created though, as I am fond of the design. It was a work in progess of course, but I was pretty happy with the direction I had going.

I do like the design, so I might try to use it for a pet project down the road. Maybe another game site or potentially a Minnesota news site. Take care readers.

Connect Four Launch

My version of Connect 4 is finally playable. The AI still needs to be written and I will slowly be including features into the game, but it is playable as long as you have a person to play against.  I also am thinking of adding features like saving your games to come back to them later just to see if it is possible. I think the next game on my list is Mancala. If you like my take on Connect 4, be sure to keep an eye out for my version of Mancala. I know that Connect 4 and Mancala are solved games, but that doesn’t mean they are no longer fun to play.
